HOW TO CREATE AN ONLINE AD USING GOOGLE ADWORDS EXPRESS

What you need

1. A smartphone, Android or iOS
2. A Google account (Gmail address)
3. Google Chrome browser
4. Debit Card

If you have the things above, then follow these steps to create your first online ad

1. Open Chrome browser on your phone. Type in adwords.google.com/express
2. Click on CREATE NEW AD
3. On the next page, PICK A GOAL FOR YOUR AD

4. Select your audience/customers. You can use the default selection NEAR MY BUSINESS or you can select the other option IN SPECIFIC CITIES, STATES OR COUNTRIES

After your selection and input, click on NEXT.

5. Define your product or service

When you’re done click on NEXT at the bottom of the page.

6. Enter your text. Here you need to be creative. Tell your customers what’s unique about your business.

There’s a preview window on the page that shows what your ad will look like as you type in your texts.

When you’re satisfied with your texts, click on NEXT at the bottom of the page.

7. Add a picture or 2 (if you want to). This can be helpful. Putting the right picture will help create the necessary image in the mind of your customers about the product or service you’re advertising.

Click on NEXT

8. Enter your phone number

Click NEXT

9. Set your budget. The cost is in dollars by default. Type in the amount you feel you can afford per day, or just drag the slider right to increase your budget, or left to reduce your budget. The budget you choose will determine the average number of views and clicks your ad can get per month.

10. Now, review your ad. Scroll up and down to see the ad you’ve created. You’ll see all the input you’ve made. If you want something changed, scroll down and hit back. If you’re satisfied, hit NEXT.

11. Confirm your payment information. On this page you’ll be required to enter your debit card details. For those who are sceptical about sharing their card details, it’s Google, so your transaction and card details are secure. 12. If you’ve followed all these steps, good job!

Typically, Google will take about 24 hours to review your ad to ensure that it meets their standards
before the ad can go live. When they have approved your ad you’ll get an email notifying you.
